Wainwright's `enigma and enema'

This is the whole game.

• Ian: Well from there, it has to be a quick pass on the inside right to: Ealing Broadway (move #8)
• Jason: Tooting Bec (move #9)
• Gareth: Mill Hill should cover any Dollis "wild" Hill moves (move #10)
• MacWhirter: Can we apply Hurley's third conjunction to Halgedahl's rule at this point, clearing the way to a move into the South-West London quadrant, or is that a foul after the inside right move? Can anyone make a ruling? (move #11)

• Steve: A top class game but the fatal moves were the wainwright enigma and enema. However without the enema we could have all been blocked into the circle and distrcit lines (move #22)
• Jonathan: Don't patronise me! The wainwright is a sound move provided it is followed up with a suitably proficient answer. Unfortunately Andrew suddenly developed "Bruno Opponent Syndrome". Hardly my fault. (move #23)
• Steve: Jonathon, Sorry I did not mean to patronise you in the least I just meant that the enema follwing the enigma was the wrong move, the enigma was a masterful act. (move #24)
• The enema is not the wrong move. Andrew caused the demise of the enema by playing a very careless move (a block with no straddled support!).: Comments (move #25)
• Alasdair: The Enema following the Enigma is a standard strategy...We were taught it as a matter of course in Birmingham. See Howe vs Wallen, 1949. There, Howe very cleverly uses the combined powers of the two to clear up much of the South and West, leaving Wallen to flouder in Regent's Street whilst he moved in for the kill. Incedentally, the 1947 meetings between these two Grand-Masters also saw the first playing of Halgedahl's rule in a serious competition...it didn't work then either... (move #26)
• Jonathan: Don't downrate it though - it is a great tactic in the right hands. Check Watson vs. Heimdall in the world final of 1963. Heimdal would disagree with you! (move #27)
