The First Web `Reverse MC'
This is the whole game.
The current state of play is:
- Steve: How about a reverse game of MC. ie one starting at MC and reversing back to see where a game could begin. This is always good for advanced players. Novices may wish to join in after a while. MC to Kensal Green
(move #1)
- Steve: I've just realised we could have a major problem finishing this game
(move #2)
- Rob: No problemo at all. It just means that there can be a number of different possible endings to the game, depending on which player is the first to play what would have been his 'initial move'. This must be allowed for by everyone else, bringing in a large possible element of surprise as no-one can be absolutely sure they are not playing straight into the path of the next player's first (last) move. However, I feel strict rotation MUST be observed to make this a reasonable prospect.
(move #3)
- Rob: Therefore: Highbury & Islington. Although how Steve got from there to Kensal Green I shall never know.
(move #4)
- Doug: What an excellent idea. Walthamstow Central - Rob must have used a rather elegant double-straddle. Classy.
(move #5)
- Steve: I quie agree that strict rotation must be observed. New players may start at any point but must observe where they joined the game. If a member does not play there move for say one day it shall be forfeited. I don't see how the game will finish though. Anyway Holborn. Well I never, fancy that coming up again. See previous move to be posted
(move #6)
- Jonathan: Aah, this is where I left off. Hammersmith.
(move #7)
- Rob: And since the others all left the game before this point, it was my move again: Euston
(move #8)
- Kev: Frith Street. Obviously.
(move #9)
- acb: Totteridge & Whetstone, inverting a Butterfly Fiancetto
(move #10)
- Steve: Back to me again, my doesn't time fly. If I remember correctly Covent Garden
(move #11)
- Doug: Covent Garden?! I think you're mistaken there Steve - if acb inverted the Fiancetto, you can't have been anywhere apart from the Hammersmith and City line. Adjudication please?
(move #12)
- Kev: No, that particular Fiancetto only blocks stations the lie "outside" the H&C line (Covent Garden being inside, of course).
(move #13)
- Kev: errata: "...stations that lie "outside"..."
(move #14)
- Steve: Thanks Kev, it's fairly rare that I make a mistake.
(move #15)
- Doug: I thought it was stations "inside" the H&C but East of the Northern Line - and Euston plated later by Rob must have meant that left-handed stations that you need to change to get to from Great Portland Street were out of play.
(move #16)
- Doug: Oops - just realised - the Butterfly Fiancetto does flip those conditions, and since Covent Garden, being right-handed in this instance, was fine. SOrry - my mistake. How embarrassing.
(move #17)
- Adjudicator: Any chance of Jonathan playing his previous move, or did someone else leave the game at this point?
(move #18)
- Rob: Note to Steve.. something like your game 16 manouevre will of course be needed during the 'starting' move of this game
(move #19)
- Jonathan: Hah! This was where I started! Finchley Road! Another Mornington Crescent victory for me!
(move #20)
- Jonathan: Some of us have it...
(move #21)
- Steve: So who did you catch it off? and what is it?
(move #22)
- Simes: And where can I buy some?
(move #23)
You can look at the next game (Grandmaster Level),
go back to the previous game (No Objections Please),

list of all games.
This game is closed for further play, what with this being an archive and all.
