From Willesden Junction...
This is just the last 40 moves. You can see more moves, or the whole game.
The current state of play is:
- Kev: Noted. Seven Sisters, then.
(move #23)
- Doug: Hammersmith. Thank god I made it to the end of a line - I guess I have Kev to thank for that (grin).
(move #24)
- Jonathan: Chigwell, pushing Doug back into trouble.
(move #25)
- Chris R: Alperton (don't mind if I join in do you?
(move #26)
- Kev: New Cross Gate. As for Chris's joining - provided that this is an Open Game (I'm not entirely sure), all should be well.
(move #27)
- Jonathan: Well, strictly speaking, Chigwell after an end-of-line move will always leave the game open, so I have no problem.
(move #28)
- Rob: Upminster. Shaliwell sidle.
(move #29)
- Alan: Royal Oak (Stefan's Oblique)
(move #30)
- Eristophanes: Holloway Road, where the sun shines, all day long.
(move #31)
- Kev: The sun never sets on North Acton.
(move #32)
- Chris R: Aldgate East (where the sun rises!)
(move #33)
- Steve: Her's an interesting move: Euston Square
(move #34)
- Jonathan: Time to dart west to West Ham, for another Cottee Manouvre
(move #35)
- Duncan R.: Chalfont & Latimer (why not?)
(move #36)
- Kev: Debden
(move #37)
- Eristophanes: Sudbury Town for old time's sake (1976 World Qualifier, preliminary round)
(move #38)
- Jonathan: West Ham again, sorry (Hutchison 1-0 ha ha ha Arsenal manouvre, I believe)
(move #39)
- Chris R: Chancery Lane (raising the tone a bit!)
(move #40)
- Steve: Bank (Lowering it again)
(move #41)
- Kev: Canning Town
(move #42)
- Jonathan: Are we seriously going to let Kev get away with that?
(move #43)
- Duncan R.: Yes we are. Dollis Hill
(move #44)
- Jonathan: Well then. Avoiding the obvious temptation, I will go for Dollis Hill.
(move #45)
- Steve: Watch out now, we don't want too many of those or you know what will happen. Island Gardens, Docklands gambit.
(move #46)
- Kev: Maximising the Doppler effect around Morden... Seven Sisters.
(move #47)
- Ian: A bit late to join in I suppose, but I have always wanted to try the 10-H move - Hounslow East
(move #48)
- Eric: Charing Cross (variation on the Yamamoto Inversion)
(move #49)
- Alasdair: Continuing the Inversion to its obvious conclusion, Regent's Park.
(move #50)
- Steve: re-inverting or possibly even un-inverting Morden
(move #51)
- Ian: Am I missing something? Pimlico
(move #52)
- Rob: Yep, there it goes. But luckily, before it went, it really suggested Woodside Park in a strong way.
(move #53)
- Duncan R.: Charing Cross (re-circuiting)
(move #54)
- Steve: Closing in for the kill. Camden Town
(move #55)
- Kev: Woodford, our only hope for salvation.
(move #56)
- Alistair: It's got to be... Hatton Cross.
(move #57)
- Simon: Sorry to join at this late juncture - Hatton Cross will only lead to inevitable circular motion (the Heathrow loop, of course, unless I am bold and say Watford (the Airbus gambit)
(move #58)
- Duncan R.: I hate to do this guys, but the Airbus gambit does open up the vast majority of London: Mornington Crescent!
(move #59)
- Duncan R.: (Winner's Comments) : Everything looked very tight, but unfortunately for Simon the Watford Airbus does create a multitude of moves, including the winner. A better move might have been the Piccadilly switchback to perhaps Uxbridge (peak hours only) thus keeping MC out of play for the next 3 moves.
(move #60)
- Jonathan: That was unusually reckless for Simon actually.
(move #61)
- Andre: Well, one has to admit that the Piccadilly
switchback is a hard move to spot in this
situation. But still, there were some more obvious
moves aroun. But I don't understand why Simon was
so afraid of the Heathrow loop - There's plenty
of ways to stop that one, as long as there is a
little bit of cooperation among the players. And
if not, it's just what they deserve...
(move #62)
You can look at the next game (Celebration 100),
go back to the previous game (The first, and the shortest; a controversial start to the season),
or review the
list of all games. You can also view the previous page.
This game is closed for further play, what with this being an archive and all.
