July 09, 2008 High Dynamic Range Photography

This book looks interesting: "High Dynamic Range photography is the process of taking several pictures of a scene at various exposures, then merging them into one file."

I will have to look into this idea a bit more, if only to find a good way of doing it using the GIMP.

Not exactly the kind of thing that would work well for action shots, though!

Update - Googled the term and found a fascinating article on how to do HDR photography on Linux. It sounds like my systems may not be grunty enough to manage.
