We are the product of our experiences...
I have been using UML for the best part of a decade, but it was not my first contact with modelling. That came at my first employer where I was taught to RT/SASD, a methodology tuned for real-time systems.
And so I am doing some detailed modelling again for the best reasons: in order to get a complete spec of the system. I'm using UML of course, but lo! I find myself using UML according to the tenets of the RT/SASD methodology.
Nice to know that fifteen year old knowledge is still relevant.
