That's it for me; no more Dilbert.
I've been reading Dilber online for many years, and have been using a browser with popup blocking for the last three or more years. Well, the twits at United Media who run the Dilbert web site have finally convinced me that Dilbert is not worth reading by serving up pop under ads that circumvent the popup blocking used by both Firefox and Safari.
I'll still read it on Sundays in the paper, but that's it for the daily read.
It's not as if it's been that good recently anyway.

I'm not sure what annoys me more. Popup/under adverts, or popup blocking software.
The latter is why I use browsers which include popup blocking, which usually works.
I don't know if you use an RSS reader, but if so you can get Dilbert pop-up-free from here: www.tapestrycomics.com/dilbert.xml
I hate, hate, hate. I hate the interweb. I hate computer culture. I hate the use of computers as anything other than tools. Everyone who uses the interweb is a tool.
It's my birthday soon.
Please will someone buy me some Joy Division Oven Gloves?
[Rich] Which is why I hate Windows, IE, and Outlook with a passion borne of having to fix the bastard things all the time, and of having to scoop all the crap of the way that is strewn in your path all the time if these pieces of offal are used. Microsoft do not, as far as I can see, make tools - they make advertising opportunities.
Happy birthday.
[matt] I thank you for the information, but the well is already poisoned.
Pop-unders are evil. At least the in-page ad-blocking thingy I use with firefox works pretty well.
[Dunx] Not *that* soon... ;-) You've got three months yet!
If there are no JDOG going, I'd like a "I was touched by his noodly appendage" mug/t-shirt/poster...
For anyone who is hopelessly confused by the above, I should mention (Lockwood does comment spam) that ther mighty Half Man Half Biscuit have a new album out soon, and the track that's being played to death* by BBC 6Music is the aforementioned "Joy Division Oven Gloves", a live (Radio 1 (possibly 2) session) version of which is available at:
www.hyperactive-stage.co.uk/hmhb_sessions/04 Joy Division Oven Gloves.mp3
Get it, and marvel at any song that can mention the phrase "Piccalilli shinpads".
The whole session is also available at www.hmhb.co.uk
For details of Noodly Appendages, go to www.venganza.org
Cheers,
Rich.
*for very small values of death. More a nasty cold.
So glad to hear that HMHB are still going. I remember them when I was in Liverpool before they broke up in the mid 80s, and I never picked up any of their work after they reformed. My recollection of the band is therefore stuck in the "Trumpton Riots" and "Back in the DHSS" era. Once I have a job again I shall go and buy some of their recordings.
LOOK, stop reading all this cr#p on the interweb.
