Why Should I Listen To You?
Fragmented observations of a fractured lifestyle.

A sparkling highlight of our trip to Britain (at least for me) was the Pilgrimage.

I am reminded of this because I am in the midst of sorting out the photos from this mammoth event, featuring contributions from four other photographers and copious stuffty action. I had forgotten how much fun these gatherings were, and I confess I was a bit of a wet blanket there because the stress of the weeks leading up to our trip meant I had not built up a proper level of anticipation. Not to mention alcohol tolerance... this was the first time I had had a drink in six months, so going from zero to five pints in an afternoon may not have been that smart.

It was just great meeting up with folk I haven't seen in over three years, and finally seeing in the flesh a few faces I have either never seen or only viewed digitally before. Talking to Néa on the magical telephonic communication device was splendid, as was nattering with nat (who very gallantly supplied the telephone).

Especial mention must go to matt, however. I have known matt online for some years, and it was splendid to finally meet him in person. I was rather at a loss for things to say just because I didn't know where to start. That is sometimes the problem with reading someone's blog before you meet them.

Unfortunately, I utterly failed to hook up with Rich. He's a busy boy, and I lost his phone number. Overall, a complete SWD. Bloody annoyed about it, really.

Until the next time, anyway.

Here are photos of the Two Server Operators Pilgrimage.

Don't worry about it - glad to hear you had a good time! We'll just have to come over and pester you in Portland some time! :-)

Was very good to talk to you, too - we should do that again some time before four more years have passed. Phoning ain't that expensive after all.
