Hmm. The book list over on the right is a little out of date. Oh well.
There were several books I was looking forward to getting over the holiday season: the paperback of Hybrids (third in the Neanderthal Parallax trilogy) came out in October; Pterry's latest paperback Monstrous Regiment was published too which my sister brought over when she and her husband were over for Thanksgiving; and another volume of that same Discworld master's efforts at writing for a younger audience came out in hardback too.
Also eagerly awaited was the paperback for The Confusion, second volume in Neal Stephenson's Baroque Cycle. Quicksilver was pretty neat and I was looking forward to the paperbacks following the same six monthly publishing interval as the hardbacks: 10th January was the golden day for The Confusion.
But no more: the buggers have pushed back the paperback publishing date to June, a year after the first book came out in paperback. Presumably, the third book (The System of the World) will be another year after that.
It's a long wait. I'm very disappointed.
