December 02, 2004 The Faintest Ideas

Once upon a time, a long time ago, the way I wrote a story was that I would come up with a title and then try to fit a story in around that. Apparently, this is just how my mind works by default - having rattled the creative cage last month, and incidentally taking a very necessary holiday from writing since then, I find that I'm coming up with titles again.

The crucial difference between now and ten years ago is that I have much more awareness of how thin the stories are if I try and write them from that point of genesis. Some of the ideas are worth pursuing I think, but I need to do more research before I sit down to write.

But write I will.
