Ran the short route through the nature park with CH, one of the speedy twins. She was being quite generous in not disappearing off into the distance (as she did yesterday when we ran into each other on the trail) but I still ran a good deal harder than I have for a while.
I should probably try and do some speed training again, just because it helps make me run better. As I've noted before, I have largely abandoned the PFit speed work schedule since I've dropped off the end of it entirely what with exhaustion and injury, but I am now only running slow pace which is a little tedious. I'm not even thrashing on the bike so really I am doing very little serious cardio effort currently.
Still, it was a very pleasant run today since it was raining gently and the air temperature was just right.
I need to pick up my Bridge Run packet later today, then have a rest day tomorrow. I am going to have to get up heinously early on Sunday since the race starts at 7:30, but it's still going to be an excellent event. Looking forward to that.
Update: I was mistaken about the Bridge Run start time; the run begins at 7am on Sunday, and I am going to have to drive downtown to boot because none of the busses start running early enough to get me there in time. Arse.
I was wondering about biking down there, which would be fine except that I don't think I'll do too well cycling home again afterwards. So I'll have to drive. Tsk.
