Here's a curious phenomenon... can anyone explain it?
I cycled in to work this morning for the first time in a few weeks and, as is often the case, I was struggling to keep up the intensity level after that break (pushing my heart rate up for extended periods is one of the things I find most valuable about cycling alongside running).
But here's the odd thing: when I was pedalling along, trying to maintain pace after an uphill section, I had this overwhelming sensation that my back tyre was running flat. There seemed to be a surprising amount of rolling resistance, but the wheel seemed to be wobbling like it was loose on the axle.
This was transient, of course. Once my heart rate had dropped a bit things felt entirely normal again, and when I checked the tyre pressure and wheel fixedness after I'd stopped they were both fine.
So where does the wobbliness come from?

Panic attack. You're lucky it wasn't an overwhelming sensation of having a heart attack. That's *really* nasty.
Not enough CO2 in the bloodstream - breathe more quickly - less CO2 - increase panic sensation - feel you can't breathe - breathe more quickly - less CO2 - increase panic sensation - hyperventilate - panic - panic - chest pains - pins and needles in arm and neck - pains in back - feel you can't breathe - breathe more quickly - less CO2 - hospital - resuscitation unit...
