Why Should I Listen To You?
Fragmented observations of a fractured lifestyle.

The walls are up in the last two rooms. Skimming is going on, and this is one of the more frustrating periods of the process - each skim coat needs to dry before the next one can go on, and that means the builder could in theory turn up for two hours work and not be able to do anything else until the next day. This hasn't actually happened yet, but it yet might.

Boxing In

The heating ducts in the bathroom have been boxed in, now. It's an interesting series of shapes...
The vents above the laundry area: the one on the left is for the drier outflow, the one on the right is a code-required venting fan since the laundry area has no window. Also, we're not bothering to box in the heating ducts here, since it's a utility area and we're not quite as concerned about the aesthetics.
The vent pipes from the laundry area are enclosed here inside the meditation room. These then run alongside the heating ducts to the outside (off to the right hand side in the picture).

Bathroom Choices

When we were choosing the fittings for the bathroom, this handle on the cabinet for the bathroom sink was the touchstone for what we were looking for. It's called brushed nickel, it seems. The colour of the wood will also be followed through with slightly, but we'll get back to that.
A close up of the tap on the bathroom sink, showing off the nice brushed nickel which we love so much.
