Why Should I Listen To You?
Fragmented observations of a fractured lifestyle.
May 22, 2004 Roomy

It's the end of the second week, and all the rooms exist in their final plan forms. The family room and office are nearest to completion, the bathroom and laundry areas are next, and the meditation room is furthest from being done.

This is because the meditation room is where all the plumbing and so on used to be, and unfortunately it's the room that always seems to get it in the neck when it comes to decisions about routing ducts and so on. So, space in that room (which was already small) has been lost to the drier vent, and an extra vent needed for the washing machine (required by code), and unexpected plumbing invasions, and the lights in the ceiling are not where we wanted them: the position of the lights has been driven entirely by where existing ducting goes.

It will still be a usable room, of course.

The bathroom has a wall on the end, now, with a sliding (pocket) door in it. You can also see that the bath has been enclosed, and the damp resistant green wall board is on the walls.
The bathroom sink is in place and all hooked up. The bath taps will go on once the tiling around the bath has been done.
The walls of the family room and office have been textured, ready for painting. The texture material is spray on, and it smells pretty vile as it's drying.
