Progress on the downstairs is more in the way of lots of small things for day four. No new walls going up, but still impressive in its way...
Hallway: this is where the cupboards live.

| These are the cupboards before we started, the ones that aren't deep enough to do anything much with. |
The same cupboards, having been framed out a bit and the doors rehung. We were concerned beforehand that this would be too narrow once the doors had moved over, but in fact it's fine. |
... and from the other end of the hallway. The door on this end will be switched around to open into the family room rather than the hallway, mainly because otherwise the light switch in the hall would be too far behind the door. |
Windows: our new windows are in! The old windows were aluminium framed single-glazed things, probably original to the house but with no actual character or practicality. So, nice new uPVC windows instead.
These pictures show newly installed windows. Frames are to be added shortly.

| New window in the office. |
The outside of the windows. From the right these are the office, meditation room, and bathroom. The farthest window is for the garage which we are not replacing yet. |

All the network wiring is in, and here is the bundle of cables where all the sockets terminate. The patch panels and sockets arrived yesterday, too. The open box below the cable exit is for a power outlet so we can put all the network hardware in the box (once the box is built!). |

The cats have been taking this fairly calmly after they got over the initial shock (the first day was very loud). The dog is their new friend Buddy. |
