Why Should I Listen To You?
Fragmented observations of a fractured lifestyle.

Despite my bleating about the network stuff yesterday, things are moving fast in the downstairs project. These pictures are from days two and three.

Family Room: all the new ceiling lights are in, and the wiring for the new electrical, as well as framing for the hallway door in its new location.

New ceiling lights New framing for the hallway door Electrical boxes

Office: all the lights are in, and sockets for all the network and electrical. Network wires have also been run to the two upstairs sockets.

Wiring going up to the dining room network socket... ... which terminates here, where the network box will be.

Meditation Room: this isn't really a room yet... bits have been taken out and some wires have been run. That's about it just yet, so no pcitures.

Bathroom: the bathroom has been opened up and the shower removed.

The old shower, taken before work began. I would have a longer shot, but it's a very small bathroom! The framing for the new bathroom. Note the floor repair where the furnace used to be, and the bare walls where the shower used to be. Another angle on the same thing, looking at the torn out shower. This is where the new bath will go. The new tub, in its box (taken before the project started).

Furnace: the new furnace installation is nearly complete. Hurray!

One thing I should say about the furnace - I'm calling this a furnace instead of a boiler (the usual British term) because it's not boiling anything. The heating in our house is forced air rather than hot water radiators, so gas is turned directly into hot air. The water heater (currently electric) never actually boils the water...

A closeup of the floor repair. The new furnace, in all its shiny science fiction glory.
