Monday. It begins on Monday.

We had our final planning meeting with the builder last night, where we signed the contract and handed over a large cheque and chatted about things like the bath and some of the more complicated mechanics around the sliding door for the bathroom. He'll be back next week, of course, along with a detailed schedule. First job will be the furnace, though.

Then we went back downstairs and finished moving furniture and hifi gear.

The downstairs is weirdly empty now, with no actual things in there, just wall panels and empty cupboards and some unwanted carpet. Eerie.

The garage is also not being used as a garage. Part of the deal is that we have shuffled a lot of the bigger items into one half of the garage while leaving the other side open for a staging area. This staging area currently has the bath in it. So we are parking on the street for the duration, which at least means there's less need to wash the cars.
