My blasted iBook has died again.
This model has finally been acknowledged by Apple to have some design faults. I just hope that they can fix it for more than a few months, this time.
Sick of it. Percussive maintenance has been narrowly avoided.
This time was almost a repeat of the first failure, where I turned the machine on and got instant fuzz on the screen. However, I think that this time the display hardware is completely fried because after powering cycling I get no picture on the LCD, and no picture on the monitor output either. No warning this time, though - the machine was working fine earlier today. Get it home, turn it on... bam!
Fortunately I could do a remote login to ensure my backups were up to date (which, thinking about it, I would not be able to do with a Windows laptop, although that is merely irrelevant snideness), and now ithaqua is ready to go back to the shop for a bit of gentle tending.
*sigh*
