Distances ramp up fast in the Portland Fit plan - basically adding a mile a week on the long runs for the first few weeks.
After all my wittering about the short-pace gait this week, I am delighted to find that I kept up my sub-10:00 pace for the whole run. I even had enough energy to run it in at the end (which probably explains the sub-10:00 pace, come to think of it...), and felt like I could have run further at the end.
Sometimes changes like this are good.
