April 08, 2004 Short Stretch

25 mins/21:48 (~2½ miles)

It's a beautiful day out there - perfect for a bit of a trundle around the local bark dust trail.

Actually, 'trundle' is not the right word. I ran with CK today, an ultra-marathoner of my acquaintance, who I also ran with on Tuesday. She's a quick runner (at least by my halting standards) and it's really nice to be stretched a bit - made to work. This route usually takes me around 24 mins, which is why I chose it for today's run, so knocking a couple of minutes off is quite a boost in pace for such a comparitively short distance.

However, there are a few twinges from yesterday's activities - I joined a yoga class which is run in the lunch hour at work, and so spent an hour or so bending my body in ways it is not used to be being bent. It was fun, and I felt good afterwards (if a little light-headed), but I'm getting a few complaints from some of less-used muscles about it today. A fast run is a nice way to let my body know that complaints of that nature will not be tolerated!
