March 25, 2004 The Bidders

A couple of weeks ago, we had a number of builders wandering about the downstairs of our house while we explained what we wanted to do. Because it's a complicated job, we then had subbies coming through to have the appropriate bits of the job described so they could supply their estimates to the primary contractor.

This has been going on over the last two or three weeks, and we are finally starting to see bids. Again, it's a complicated job, so we weren't expecting them quickly.

One bid in, so far. Neither of us fainted at the cost. Just.
