I had lots to do over the weekend - Jen was away and so, freed from the pleasant but still time-consuming distraction of her company, I had a long list of projects to push forward. Some of them are on the projects list to the side, some of them weren't.
Naturally, I fell ill instead.
I felt very tired at the end of last week, and I thought this was just the usual combination of too much food and insufficient sleep that generally wears me out. Saturday was not productive from the outset, and so I decided to call it a well-deserved rest day and stopped beating myself up over it.
Sunday was worse. I was just completely exhausted, I felt dizzy and sick when I moved around too much, and I could feel my sinuses clogging up and draining. Very unpleasant.
Monday was a lost day too... I couldn't go to work. I could barely get out of bed even after more than twelve hours asleep. It wasn't until the middle of Monday afternoon that I finally felt up to doing the washing up that had been lingering by the sink since Friday, and that I could start working properly on the less physically strenuous projects. I've made good inroads on my backup scripts, anyway, although the pile of wood for laying a crawlway in the attic stands unused.
Do I feel better today? Well, yes... not fixed, and hardly perfectly balanced, but at least I can stay awake now. At least I can show some sustained interest in the world around me.
We'll probably have time to do some project work on Thursday, now.
