Why Should I Listen To You?
Fragmented observations of a fractured lifestyle.
June 24, 2002 Here we are three days

Here we are three days later and we are still without a shower.

Two things have made this job last longer than we wanted -

(1) the plaster under the tiles had been water damaged. Since this damage was so extensive, and neither of us can plaster, we decided to replace the rotten plaster with concrete board.

(2) when we were loading up the cars at the local DIY store on Friday night, I managed to get poked in the eye with the corner of one of the concrete panels. Oo, that hurt! So, we had to go to the doctor on Saturday to get it checked out. No permanent damage, but there were a couple of scratches on the cornea.

Anyway, we got only half a day working on the destruction of the bathroom and mounting the wall panels on Saturday, which meant we just weren't where we wanted to be at the end of the day. We got lots done on Sunday but the shower won't be usable until Wednesday at this point.

And I missed a phone call from the Pilgrimage :-(

Still, we'll get there - it's fun doing these jobs again.
